Nino Brown walked into opening night at Rock Club Arena like it owned the building, and for a half it did. The Nino Brown Knicks scored 33 in the second quarter and led 58-54 at the break.
Strawberry flipped it in the third. The Strawberry Sixers won the quarter 29-18 to turn a four-point deficit into an 83-76 lead, then held on through a 24-23 fourth to win 106-100.
It was an Atlantic Division opener between two classic-pack teams, and Strawberry leaves 1-0 and first in the division, up 1-0 in the season series. Nino Brown starts 0-1 and fourth in the Atlantic.
