Waui Suns Pull Away From XXX Warriors 131-122
Waui turned a three-point halftime edge into a 10-point lead with a 45-38 third quarter at Pre-Roll Pavilion and handed XXX its third straight loss.
Waui saved the fireworks for the third quarter.
XXX started sharper at Pre-Roll Pavilion, taking the first quarter 25-22. The Waui Suns answered with a 35-29 second for a 57-54 halftime lead in a Pacific Division showdown.
Then Waui caught fire. The Waui Suns hung 45 on the XXX Warriors in the third, won the quarter 45-38 and opened up a 102-92 lead.
XXX kept swinging, taking the fourth 30-29, but it shaved only a single point off the margin. Waui won 131-122.
The Waui Suns even their record at 1-1 and sit second in the Pacific Division of the Presidential Cannabis League. XXX is 0-3, fifth in the Pacific, and has lost three in a row. Waui owns the season series 1-0.
Both teams travel Monday. XXX visits the 24K Nuggets, and Waui heads to the God's Gift Thunder.

Twin blueprints, opposite labels
On paper, these Pacific rivals are near mirror images. Both are Gold Strain Series teams in the New Pack Line, and both run the same recipe: cannabis flower carrying live resin, finished with diamonds.
They even line up the same roster, four deep. The XXX Warriors and the Waui Suns both dress a full-size Blunt at 1.5g, a 1g Pre-Roll and two mini three-packs. As California's take on compact packs explains, the mini only changes the scale. The wrap still decides the format, tobacco-free hemp on the mini blunts and paper on the mini pre-rolls.
The split is on the label. XXX is marked Indica, and Waui is marked Sativa. Those words have a long history, and the guide to where the indica and sativa labels began traces them to plant classification, geography and growth form, a broad shorthand rather than a measure of the batch in hand.
What's inside
XXX brings a woodsy citrus profile and no explanation. There is no flavor name and no partner mark on the pack, just a red curtain, planets in the rafters and three letters in neon.
Waui goes tropical, with a pineapple-led profile in a bouquet of hibiscus and plumeria on a black backdrop. ROVE is printed on the front of every Waui pack, and every jersey carries an 8.
