The XJ-13 Pacers came out firing. The Cherry Gelato Heat simply kept firing longer.
XJ-13 poured in 42 points in the first quarter at Diamond Coat Arena and led 42-36. Cherry Gelato clamped down in the second, winning it 32-19, and went to the half ahead 68-61.
From there it was all Cherry Gelato. A 35-27 third made it 103-88, and a 42-point fourth, matching XJ-13's opening burst, closed out a 145-125 win.
Cherry Gelato took the second half 77-64 in its East Group B opener and has now won two in a row. Both teams sit at 2-4. Cherry Gelato is fifth in the Southeast Division, and XJ-13 is third in the Central Division after a third straight loss.
This was the first meeting of the season, so Cherry Gelato leads the series 1-0.
XJ-13 is home Sunday against the NYC Diesel Nets. Cherry Gelato visits the SFV OG Lakers on Monday.

A family tree and a partner on the front
Both packs in this Presidential Cannabis League matchup print a second name. They just print different kinds.
XJ-13 puts its family on the label. Every pack lists Jack Herer and G13 Haze beside the name as the strain's parentage, and the flower comes from THC Design. A primer on how to read a strain's parentage describes a simple lineage as two named parents, a map of where a cultivar came from rather than a finished portrait.
Cherry Gelato puts its partner on the front. It is one of three teams Presidential fields with ROVE, alongside Skywalker and WAUI, and the ROVE mark rides on every pack beside the giant cherries and teal gelato.
What's inside
Neither roster leaves a rolled position empty. Both Gold Strain Series teams field the Blunt, the Pre-Roll and both minis. Both start with flower and carry live resin and diamonds.
XJ-13 is marked Sativa and reports citrus, lemon and pine. Cherry Gelato is marked Hybrid and pairs sweet cherry with a creamy Gelato profile.
The lineups match pack for pack: a 1.5g Blunt and a 1g Pre-Roll, then a Mini Blunt three-pack of 0.7g rolls for 2.1g and a Mini Pre-Roll three-pack of 0.5g rolls for 1.5g.
Downsizing does not change the recipe. A guide to what goes inside a Presidential mini says the minis hold the same infused construction as the full-size rolls, with hemp around the mini blunts and paper around the mini pre-rolls.
