Wedding Cake used a lopsided third quarter at Rose Gold Pavilion to open Presidential Cup group play with a win and square the season series at 1-1.

The Presidential Cup arrived Friday, and the Wedding Cake Wizards treated their first group game like a statement.
The Presidential OG Hornets struck first at Rose Gold Pavilion, taking a 26-22 opening quarter. Wedding Cake flipped the script in the second, winning it 29-20 to lead 51-46 at the break.
Then the hosts slammed the door. Wedding Cake ran away with the third 28-13, stretching the margin to 79-59 and leaving Presidential OG chasing all fourth quarter.
The visitors took that last period 20-16, too little to matter. Final: Wedding Cake 95-79.
The East Group C win lifts Wedding Cake to 3-3 and second in the Southeast Division, and it squares the season series at 1-1 four nights after Presidential OG won the first meeting. Presidential OG also sits at 3-3, now third in the division with two straight losses.
Presidential OG turns around and hosts the Strawberry Sixers on Saturday. Wedding Cake gets two days off before visiting the Cereal Milk Magic on Monday.
