Nine points. That was all Cereal Milk managed in the third quarter, and it was the difference in a 103-94 win for the Wedding Cake Wizards at Live Rosin Fieldhouse on Monday.
The Cereal Milk Magic came out flying and took the first quarter 33-28. Wedding Cake answered with a 32-26 second to slip ahead 60-59 at the half.
Then the visitors clamped down. Wedding Cake won the third 19-9 and opened a 79-68 lead. Cereal Milk took the fourth 26-24, and that only shaved 2 points off an 11-point hole.
Wedding Cake moves to 4-3, has won two straight and sits first in the Southeast Division. Cereal Milk slips to 2-5 and fifth in the division after back-to-back defeats. Wedding Cake takes the season series lead 1-0 in the first meeting between the two.
Wedding Cake heads home to host the Ghost Train Haze Hawks on Wednesday, November 4. Cereal Milk goes on the road to face the Waui Suns on Thursday, November 5.
